Fruit Zombie Survival Diamonds and gems: how to earn, keep and spend them.

Two currencies, six income routes, and one spending order that stops you re-buying the same upgrades every run.

This hub answers which source to use and what to buy first. The step-by-step farming method — including how to measure your own rate instead of trusting a number — lives on the Diamond farming guide. Codes live on the codes page. Nothing here is a substitute for those; it is the map.

The two-currency rule

Currency
Where it comes from
Survives the run?
What you buy with it
Berries
Kills, Nami’s Mandarin Field, Berry Start pass
No — resets when the run ends
In-run upgrades and placed builds
Diamonds
guides also say “gems”
Quests, boss resets, milestones, 12 hidden pickups, codes, invite bonus
Yes — permanent
Class unlocks, fruit progression, artifact slots

The rule that follows: spend Berries freely inside a run — hoarding them gains you nothing because they wipe — and treat Diamonds as an account fund. The most common beginner leak is spending Diamonds on rerolls while their in-run Berry spend goes unbuilt.

What to spend on first

Your situation
Spend on
Why
You keep dying early
Health + base damage upgrades
They persist for the whole run and cost the least per point of survival.
Nothing holds the lane
Franky (class)
The cheapest real hold — it turns “where do zombies walk?” into a repeatable test.
You go broke between runs
Nami (class)
Mandarin Field generates Berries, so in-run builds stop being a reset-poor scramble.
Lane holds, damage is short
Control or burst class / fruit band
Spend on ceiling only after the floor exists.
You want collection progress
Fruit bands + collection tracker
Cheapest way to move toward the collection badges.

Turn the rate into a decision

A rate only matters next to a target. The Run Planner takes how much you farm per session and returns how many sessions your next unlock costs — classes, fruit bands or artifact slots. That is the difference between “Diamonds are slow” and “this class is 14 sessions at my current rate”.

Frequently asked questions

How do you get Diamonds in Fruit Zombie Survival?

Six documented routes: the quest board (about 1,375 per four-quest cycle), wave and milestone rewards, boss-reset runs (about 320 per clear), twelve hidden pickups around the map, codes (1,500–2,500 each) and a one-off invite-a-friend bonus of about 500. Only the quest board and boss resets repeat indefinitely.

Are Diamonds the same as gems?

Yes. The shop and official page say Diamonds; many community videos say gems. Same permanent currency. If a guide tells you to “farm gems fast”, it means Diamonds — and the fastest repeatable source is the quest board, not a wave grind.

What should I spend Diamonds on first?

Health and base damage upgrades carry the run and are the cheapest permanent gains. After that, the class that fills your missing job — Franky if nothing holds the lane, Nami if you keep going broke between runs. Fruits come after positioning works; rerolls come last.

Are Diamonds or Berries more important?

They do different jobs. Berries are the run currency and reset when the run ends, so unspent Berries are wasted. Diamonds persist and buy classes, fruit progression and artifact slots. The rule that follows: spend Berries freely inside a run, hoard Diamonds between runs.

Is it worth buying Diamonds with Robux?

That is a personal call, not a progression requirement. Every class and fruit route has a free path, and community guides state plainly that the boss-reset loop works with weak fruit and no Robux. Buying only compresses time.

Do codes count as a Diamond source?

Yes, but a one-off one. Codes pay 1,500–2,500 Diamonds each, roughly two quest cycles, and cannot be re-claimed. See the codes page for what backs each code.

What is the fastest way to get Diamonds fast?

For a burst: redeem live codes. For repeatable income: the quest board. For per-minute efficiency: boss-reset runs, reported at about 320 per clear with about a minute per clear. Most players should do all three in that order of effort.

How long does a class take to afford?

It depends entirely on which rate you can sustain. The Run Planner converts your own measured rate into runs-until-unlock, so you can see the cost in play time rather than in an abstract number.
