Arcade mode · two complete runs read on 17 Oct 2026 · patch source 10 Oct 2026

Arcade mode: the daily ticket, the rank ladder and what the run chest pays.

Rank A at Wave 67, S at 120, SS at 5.4M points — and no SSS in sight.

Arcade mode is the run type update 1.7 added on 10 October 2026, and it is the one place in the game where your build is assembled live. You take a free daily ticket to a map called Kuraigana, pick one artifact out of three every time you level, clear boss blocks that pay out in Diamonds, and finish with a Run Chest sized by the rank your run earned. This page is built from two complete runs recorded on 17 October 2026 — one stopped at Wave 120, one went to Wave 420 — because the developer publishes the mode’s name and nothing else about it.

What the game itself confirms: the in-game PATCH NOTES 1.7 panel, read on 10 October 2026, lists Arcade Mode (“Artifacts Go Crazy: Pick artifacts as you level”), Run Chest (“Every arcade run ends on a chest ranked by score”), Skypiea Dials and bug fixes. Everything below that is not on that panel is read off two runs and dated.

How a run is set up

  1. Choose Arcade at the mode select. The mode picker sits in the lobby, and the arcade entry opens on its own screen — the map is already Kuraigana, not one of the survival islands. If you are picking a survival map, you are in the wrong mode.
  2. Check the ticket line before anything else. The entry screen reads TICKET READY — Your free run for today. That is the run you get; nothing on the screen promises a second.
  3. Set the party. The entry screen carries a party size line; both runs here were solo, so nothing on this page describes how a larger party splits artifact picks.
  4. Start, then pick an artifact at every level. The pause that interrupts the run reads LEVEL 87! Arena paused — pick an artifact for this run, and the three options are rarity-labelled: a typical hand was a Rare Healing Orb, a Legendary Tamamo’s Comb and a Legendary Oil Procession Lantern.
  5. Treat the picks as the run’s build. They last for that run only, which is why the same fruit can feel different two runs apart — the artifacts, not the fruit, decide what your damage does at Wave 300.

What the artifact picks look like

The pool spans the whole rarity ladder, and the rarest tier does appear as a pick, not only in chests. Across the two recordings the options included Commons (Chopper’s Hat, Leaf of the Oji Tree), Uncommons (Seastone Cuffs), Rares (Zoro’s Bandana, Guard Bubble, Split Kitsune Mask) and Legendaries (Whitebeard’s Bandana, Ryuma’s Sabre, Law’s Spotted Hat, Nine Tails Drum), with two Mythics offered in the Wave 120 run: Moria’s Scissors and Straw Hat.

What that means for your choices: the pick is the cheapest power in the game, because it costs a level you were going to earn anyway. Take the slot that covers the job you are missing — sustain on a run where you keep dying to chip damage, damage when the boss blocks are timing out — rather than the highest rarity on offer. A Legendary that does not fit the build is a wasted level.

The rank ladder, as far as it can be read

Rank shows up twice: in the HUD while you play, and on the end panel with the run’s final numbers. Neither screen prints the threshold, and no official surface lists the ladder — so the table below is two runs, not a rulebook.

Rank
Where it was read
What to take from it
Rank A
Wave 67, score 545,826
First named rank seen in the Ghost Fruit run, on the same HUD that later read S.
Rank S
Wave 120, after the Dune Marauder
The rank the run ended on; the chest that followed held five artifacts, all duplicates.
Rank SS
On screen at score 1,710,523 and still there at 5,422,295 / Wave 420
The highest rank either run reached. The chest paid 6/6.
Rank SSS
Never observed
The creator expected it at 5M points and it did not appear up to 5.42M. Not proof of absence.
The one thing you can plan around: rank was already SS while the run was only a third of the way through its waves, which means it is not “clear 400 waves to earn SS”. It rose during the run and then stopped rising. If you are chasing a chest size, keep pushing score after the rank stops changing and watch whether the chest count moves — that is the open question this page cannot answer with two samples.

What the Run Chest paid

Chest
What the opener read
What came out
Rank SS
RUN CHEST — RANK SS (6/6)
Six artifacts: Vivre Card (Legendary), Darkness Orb (Legendary), Healing Orb (Rare), News Gull (Rare), Healing Orb (Rare), Thunder Orb (Rare)
Rank S
Five artifacts, no rank header in the recording
Stasis Field (Legendary, duplicate), Treasure Chest (Epic, duplicate), News Gull (Rare, duplicate), Zoro’s Bandana (Rare, duplicate), Sogeking’s Mask (Rare, duplicate)

Two chests is a small sample, and the second one is why this page does not promise rarity: every single item in it was already owned. The visible difference between the two is the count — six against five — which is exactly the effect the SS-run creator describes, that rank raises the number of artifacts and not their tier. His fuller claim, that Rank S pays exactly four, is not something either recording shows.

What a run pays

Reading
Diamonds
Where it was printed
Run to Wave 120
18.0K
Diamonds earned on the end panel
Block cleared, Waves 291–300
+210.1K
Mid-run notice, printed as a block payout
Block cleared, Waves 411–420
+293.9K
Mid-run notice on the same run
Run to Wave 420
62.1K
Diamonds earned on the end panel — smaller than the two notices above, so they do not sum

Do not build a Diamonds-per-minute model on these numbers. Two runs, one rank change, and two mid-run notices that read larger than the run’s own total are not a rate — they are a floor and a ceiling for what a long arcade session can hand you. What is solid: the payout moves with how deep you go, and the deep end is where the big notices sit. For the repeatable income sources outside arcade, see Diamond farming.

Bosses you will meet in an arcade run

Wave
Boss
Element and tells
Wave 10
Tremor Colossus
Quake
Wave 20
Hoarfrost Warden
Ice — 52,000 HP, and its prompt says the outside of the arena is the safe place
Wave 120
Dune Marauder
Sand — killing it moved the run to Rank S
Wave 300 and 420
Storm Herald
Lightning — “Strikes where you were standing. Keep moving.”

All four were seen in these two runs. The Ice boss in the Wave 20 slot is described in more detail on the wave page, including its arena-edge prompt, because survival mode uses the same boss.

This one opens mid-run at Level 76 with Rank SS already on screen and 1,710,523 score — the clearest evidence that rank is not tied to the last waves. The end panel at 3:57 is where the 62.1K Diamonds, 76-minute runtime and Rank SS stamp are read, and the chest opener at 4:01 is the 6/6 count.

What the recordings do not prove: the rank thresholds, whether Rank SSS exists, whether more than one arcade run a day is available, how party size splits the artifact picks, or what the arcade chest can drop at the top of the rarity ladder. None of those is published by the developer, and two runs cannot settle them.

What is still unknown

Frequently asked questions

What is Arcade mode in Fruit Zombie Survival?

A separate run type that arrived with update 1.7 on 10 October 2026 — its in-game PATCH NOTES panel lists “Arcade Mode”, “Run Chest”, “Skypiea Dials” and bug fixes. It is played on its own map (Kuraigana), it hands you an artifact choice at every level instead of a fixed loadout, it ranks the run (A, S and SS were all observed), and it ends in a Run Chest whose size follows that rank. The normal survival mode is a different ladder on the same account.

How do I start an arcade run?

Choose Arcade at the mode select in the lobby, pick the daily map, and start. The entry screen in the 17 October 2026 recording reads Daily Arcade on Kuraigana, carries the banner ARTIFACTS GO CRAZY, and shows TICKET READY — Your free run for today with a solo party. Whether a second run the same day needs a ticket you have to earn is not shown on any surface this site can read, so plan on one free run a day.

How does an arcade run differ from a normal run?

Three things change. You pick one artifact out of three every time you level, and those artifacts last for that run only — the pause screen says so plainly: Arena paused — pick an artifact for this run. Boss blocks pay out Diamonds in visible chunks as you clear them. And the run is scored and ranked, so the ending is a graded chest rather than a wave count.

How do I raise my rank?

Nobody publishes the thresholds, so the only honest answer is the shape the two 17 October runs showed: Rank A was already on screen at Wave 67 with 545,826 score, Rank S arrived at Wave 120 after the Dune Marauder boss, and Rank SS was on screen from score 1,710,523 and still there at Wave 420 with 5,422,295. Rank is therefore not a fixed wave milestone — but the two runs cannot separate “more waves” from “more score”, because both rose together.

Does Rank SSS exist?

Not in anything this site has read. The creator of the Wave 420 run expected SSS at five million points, crossed 5.42 million, and the HUD stayed on Rank SS all the way to the end screen. That proves SSS did not appear at that score and wave count; it does not prove the rank is absent from the game, and no official surface lists the ladder.

What does the Run Chest give?

At Rank SS the chest opener was titled RUN CHEST — RANK SS (6/6) and paid six artifacts: two Legendary and four Rare in that sample. At the lower rank the chest held five and every one of them was a duplicate of something already owned. The creator of the SS run states that the rank raises the number of artifacts, not the odds of a Mythic or Secret one — treat that as his read of his own runs, because the chest screen prints counts, not drop rates.

How many Diamonds does an arcade run pay?

The end screen is the reliable number: 18.0K for the run that stopped at Wave 120, and 62.1K for the one that reached Wave 420. The mid-run notices read larger — WAVES 291-300 CLEARED (+210.1K 💎) and WAVES 411-420 CLEARED (+293.9K 💎) — so they are block notices, not a running sum you can add up to the total. No per-wave rate can be derived from two runs, and this page does not invent one.

How long does a deep arcade run take?

Long. The Wave 120 run took 20 minutes 31 seconds; the Wave 420 run took 76 minutes 20 seconds for 21,218 kills. Boss waves offer a break prompt (TAKE A BREAK?) with a two-minute countdown and a SKIP BREAK option, so the intended pattern is to stop at a boss and come back — not to play 76 minutes straight.

Where this comes from: the in-game PATCH NOTES 1.7 panel read on 10 October 2026, plus two complete arcade runs recorded on 17 October 2026 (groundon7828) and read end to end. Panel text, ranks, counts and payouts are quoted as displayed; the one creator claim repeated here as a claim — that rank raises artifact count rather than rarity — is labelled as his.
